The Crush Kickball league depends on volunteer involvement for the success of the program. The head coach, assistant coach, and team parent are all responsible for creating a positive atmosphere where children learn sportsmanship, fundamental skills, teamwork, and respect on and off the field. To ensure the safety of all players, the Crush league completes a criminal background check for all individuals working directly with children in the program.

Head Coaches are assigned a specific age group of children to teach the fundamental skills of kickball, the rules of the game, and good sportsmanship, while bringing new, creative and fun practice ideas to the field. They coach kickball strategies with enthusiasm and patience keeping in mind each child’s unique abilities. While fostering an environment of teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship, head coaches will mentor and lead assistant coaches, team parents and other volunteers while keeping in mind the feelings of the team ahead of his/her desire to win.

Assistant Coaches are the backbone of every successful Crush team as they serve as an extension to the head coach. Besides assisting in the development of practice plans and game day coaching, they help guide the players toward skill development, assist in the organizational aspects of the team, and manage the behind the scenes duties that are necessary for a successful Crush team.

Team Parents provide not only administrative tasks for the team, but help maintain the team dynamic and culture that has been set by the coach. Using organizational skills, they maintain and update the team roster, distribute uniforms, create the snack schedule, plan additional team activities, and act as a liaison between the coaching staff and parents.
