Frequently Asked questions

What are your boundary stipulations?

There are no boundary limitations as the Crush Kickball program welcomes all players. League focus is primarily in the East Valley (San Tan Valley, Queen Creek, Gilbert, Florence) with expansion anticipated in 2025 throughout the rest of the Valley. Plans of becoming a statewide recreational youth and adult kickball league is in the works.

Can I volunteer or assist in coaching?

Absolutely! We are always looking for volunteers. However, anyone involved within the organization must pass a background check and participate in various coach clinics. Volunteers will also be needed as assistant coaches and team parents, as well as a field maintenance crew, score keepers, and umpires. Please see the volunteer page on the website for ways that you can get involved with the Crush Kickball program.

Is CRUSH a club organization?

CRUSH is considered a recreational league for youth ages 4-18 and adults of all ages. As the organization grows, there may be an opportunity for a more competitive experience through inter-league play.

What if I sign up now and pay the money and then change our mind closer to the start of the season?

We understand that a family’s needs and commitments may change, and thus we will refund your registration fee, minus any administrative costs.

I want my child to play, but I really can’t afford the registration costs. Do you offer scholarships?

The Crush organization believes a child’s ability to play should never depend on their ability to pay. Therefore, a limited number of youth scholarships are available for those families who meet certain financial criteria. Please contact Tracy@CrushKickball.com if you would like an application.

What will I need to provide?

Whether you are an adult player or youth, there is no required equipment. However, many purchase non-metal cleats. Each coach will determine what other uniform needs there may be (pants/shorts/socks).

What division do I choose for my child?

Crush currently has five divisions serving children ages 4-18. As you complete the online registration process, you will choose the division that matches your child’s age as of July 1, 2024. Some exceptions can be  made at the request of the parent, with administrative approval.

What are the season dates?

The Fall 2024 youth season will begin the weekend after Labor Day and finish the weekend before Thanksgiving. The adult pilot season will run during the month of November.

What exactly do my fees cover?

Your fees cover the cost of team equipment, insurance for your child, field costs, and uniforms.

How many games are played each season?

Each division will play at least 10 games (1-2 games a week) not including a possible post-season tournament for several divisions. Depending on the number of teams in each division, some teams may have double-headers. Adults will play 1-2 games a week.

What days of the week are games played?

Youth games are played on Saturday mornings and adult games are Friday nights from 7p-10p.

When and where are practices?

Depending on the number and location of registrations, teams will be formed as close to your residence or school as possible. However, it is each coach's discretion as to when and where they want to hold their team’s practice.

How are teams formed?

After registration closes, teams will be formed based on age, geographical area, and ability. Each adult must register separately. Through the registration process, they can request a specific coach or register as a free agent.

 Where are fields located?

Crush is in the process of securing various fields throughout the SE Valley. The fall youth and adult league games are played at San Tan Foothills High School. Keep in mind, depending on the number of team formations, travel to neighboring cities may be necessary.

How are rainouts handled?

In addition to an organizational wide information text, head coaches will receive a message as soon as it is determined that play is cancelled. He/she will then let team members know. Depending on field availability, we will do our best to make up the game after the regular season.

Will there be an end-of-season tournament?

Depending on the number of teams in each division, CRUSH plans to have end of season tournament.

Are there any discounts?

Volunteers who sign up as head coach of their child’s team will receive complimentary registration for that child. We also offer a $5 discount for siblings. There are no adult league discounts at this time.

Do you accept ESA/Class Wallet?

Crush Kickball is an approved ESA vendor through Class Wallet. You can choose to pay the registration fees through Class Wallet or submit a receipt for reimbursement. Reach out to Tracy@CrushKickball.com for questions regarding the ESA program.

Can I request a specific coach/friend?

Within the registration portal, there will be a place to request a specific coach or friend. Although there are no guarantees, Crush will make every effort to honor those requests.

My child and I have never played kickball. Is your league a good fit for a beginner?

Crush is the perfect league for a beginning player. Some kids and adults have experience from elementary school, but many haven’t ever played kickball. We strive to promote self-confidence, good sportsmanship, while learning skills of the game, all in a safe and positive and fun environment.

What is the Crush All Star Program?

In youth divisions that have at least five teams,  coaches will be watching for talented players who display exemplary sportsmanship and leadership abilities. Players will be nominated from each team, and after a selection process they will be offered an All Star position. Teams will be provided new jerseys and potential practice shirts with exclusive Crush Kickball All Star branding. Practice will be held at the discretion of the coach over a two-three week period towards the end of the regular season. The two teams will then play one another at a championship All Star tournament. As the Crush Kickball organization grows, All Stars from various leagues will compete with one another.
