Frequently Asked Questions

What are your boundary stipulations?

Crush Kickball has no boundary restrictions—players are welcome from anywhere! Our primary focus is the East Valley with plans to expand across the Valley and eventually statewide.

Can I volunteer or assist in coaching?

Absolutely! We welcome volunteers as head and assistant coaches, team parents, field crew, scorekeepers, and umpires, as well as other areas such as (marketing, uniform crew, photography). All volunteers must pass a background check and complete coaching clinics. Visit the Volunteer page on our website to learn more and get involved.

Is CRUSH a club organization?

Crush Kickball is a recreational league for youth (ages 4–18). While the focus is on fun and development, we are exploring options for more competitive inter-league play as we expand the program.

What if I register but later change my mind?

We understand things come up. You may request a refund, minus any administrative fees, prior to the season’s start.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes! We believe a child’s ability to play should never depend on their ability to pay. Therefore, a limited number of youth scholarships are available for qualifying families. For more information visit the Scholarship page on the website.

What do players need to bring?

There is no required equipment. However, many players purchase non-metal cleats. Each coach will determine what other uniform needs there may be (pants/shorts/socks).

What division should I choose for my child?

Crush currently offers four divisions for kids ages 4–18. Choose the division based on your child’s age as of January 1, 2026. Exceptions may be made with administrative approval. Please keep in mind, however, that we prioritize inclusion and team balance. In some seasons, depending on registration numbers, we combine age groups to ensure every child gets to play and no team is left short. In doing this, we have seen younger players gain confidence from learning alongside older teammates, and older players develop leadership and sportsmanship skills.

How many games are played each season?

Youth teams play 7-8 games (1 per week), with a possible post-season tournament in some divisions. Depending on the number of teams in each division, some teams may have double-headers or a bye week.

When are games played?

Saturday mornings

When and where are practices held?

Teams are formed based on proximity to your home or school. Coaches determine the day, time, and location of practices.

How are teams formed?

Teams are organized by age, location, and ability.

 Where are fields located?

Games are played at various locations across the Southeast Valley. Travel to nearby cities may be needed depending on registration demographics.

How are rainouts handled?

Rainout notices are relayed by coaches. We’ll do our best to reschedule missed games when possible.

 Is there an end-of-season tournament?

Depending on the number of teams per division, CRUSH plans to hold post-season tournaments.

Are there any discounts?

Head coaches receive free registration for one child. We also offer a $5 sibling discount.

Do you accept ESA/Class Wallet?

Crush is an approved ESA vendor. You can use the vendor pay option through Class Wallet or submit a receipt for reimbursement. For more information visit the ESA tab on the website.

Can I request a specific coach/friend?

There’s a section during registration to make requests. While not guaranteed, we do our best to honor them.

My child has never played kickball. Is your league a good fit for a beginner?

Crush is perfect for beginners of all ages. Our focus is on skill-building, confidence, sportsmanship, and fun in a positive, inclusive environment.

What is the Crush All Star Program?

In older youth divisions with three or more teams, players who demonstrate skill, leadership, and sportsmanship may be nominated for the All-Star team. Selected players compete in a tournament against players from other regions.

What do registration fees cover?

Fees include team equipment, insurance, field rental, and uniforms.

Why are there different start dates?

We offer multiple leagues across different locations and divisions, so start dates can vary. This helps us work around field availability, school calendars, and community needs while giving families more options to find a league that fits their schedule.

How many seasons are offered per year?

 Currently there are four seasons:

 Winter (Jan-March)

Spring (April-June)

Summer (June, in Gilbert)

 Fall (September-November)
